At Tantallon Lifestyle Technologies, we stand behind the design and engineering of our local-first hardware ecosystems. This Returns Policy outlines the terms and conditions for returning products purchased directly from the Tantallon store.
1. Return Period
Standard return timeline for home hardware components.
Hardware products may be returned within 30 days of the original delivery date for a refund of the purchase price, subject to the conditions detailed below.
2. Conditions for Returns
Requirements to protect hardware integrity and guarantee resale capability.
To be eligible for a return, the hardware components must meet the following criteria:
- The product must be unused, unaltered, and in the same physical condition as received.
- The product must be in its original product packaging, preferrably with all internal buffers/structural supports to avoid transportation damage.
- All original components, accessories, brackets, antennas, manuals, and documentation must be included.
- You must provide proof of purchase (sales receipt, order number, or confirmation email).
3. Non-Returnable Items
Certain items are excluded from returns due to licensing or customization.
- Custom-configured hardware enclosures or specialized sensor integrations.
- Activated software licenses, registration codes, or custom local authority credentials.
- Products showing physical damage, water ingress, or signs of tampering (including opening sealed hardware enclosures beyond indicated user maintenance areas).
- Products purchased through unauthorized third-party resellers.
4. Return Process
Initiate authorization prior to returning hardware to our depot.
To initiate a hardware return, please execute the following protocol:
- Request Authorization: Contact our support department at support@tantallon.tech or call +1 (905) 477-0987 to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) code.
- Provide Documentation: Include your order ID, SKU codes, serial numbers of the devices, and your reason for return.
- Obtain RMA Code: Upon validation, you will receive an RMA code and return routing instructions.
- Secure Packaging: Pack the products carefully in their original box. Clearly mark the RMA code on the exterior shipping box (do not write directly on the product box).
- Dispatch Shipment: Deliver the package to the designated warehouse address provided in your RMA instructions.
CRITICAL NOTICE: Returns shipped without a pre-authorized RMA code cannot be accepted by our logistics team and will be returned to you at your expense.
5. Refunds
Timeline and methods for processing transactions.
Upon receipt at our inspection depot, our engineers will verify the hardware contents and operational state. If the return criteria are satisfied:
- A refund of the product purchase price will be issued to your original payment method within 7-10 business days.
- Outbound shipping costs are non-refundable (except in cases of manufacturing defects or picking errors).
- You will receive a confirmation email containing the refund invoice once the transfer has been completed.
6. Defective or Damaged Products
Procedures for handling DOA (Dead on Arrival) hardware.
If you receive hardware that appears damaged or is non-functional upon initial setup:
- Notify our support team at support@tantallon.tech within 7 days of delivery.
- Include high-resolution photographs of the exterior packaging, device damage, or diagnostic logs.
- We will issue a prepaid return label and immediately expedite a replacement unit to you.
